Claim the Fame: Week 2 – Xandrah Sciavo

By now, I am certain that the SL fashion industry is likely all a buzz about Claim the Fame, the competition sponsored by in which designers are engaged in a weekly competition for top honors and recognition as a new, top-notch design brand.  Claim the Fame is organized by SL Art Couture and broadcasts live on Wednesdays at 3 PM SLT on Metaverse TV and will run for 16 weeks. BOSL Magazine is also a sponsor of this event. Last week was Week Two of the competition, and I wanted to show you four fantastic designs from some of the amazing designers featured in the competition.

Nefertiti Kimagawa tells the story of a princess with her fabulous creation, “Nefty’s Sora”, a gown that  features finely-crafted and whimsical primwork in vines and flowers.  The bodice and upper skirt prim is shown in a rich, deep green shade and contrasts nicely with the fully blooming violet skirt.  On my head is a flower petal hat in a tone that perfectly matches the skirt.

Borrowing inspiration from the peace lily, “Lily” by Kalyabreeaa Capelo was another creation that graced the runway.   In an egyptian cotton and silk tie-dyed fabric, the fitted sheath gown is belted at the waist and features beautiful primwork that billows nicely around the hem of the gown.  Accents like the chiffon flower on the belt and the wisp that reaches over the right shoulder add to Lily’s elegance.

From the House of Fox, Fashionboi Landar brought us “From Paris”, a couture design in simple and chic black.  The fitted bodice of this gown is accented by a prim border gracing the bustline, and a full, prim skirt flows in pleated panels from beneath the wide belt on the waist.  “From Paris” also features a unique headpiece that adds an additional unique charm to this gown.

Lastly, Pomme Prey is a full-length zebra print gown with handpainted purple accents created by Nuala MacMoragh, a RL and SL jewelry designer turned SL fashion designer.  The flexi-skirt and train floats like a dream, and accents such as the metal belt, metal neckpiece with purple leather fringe, and the matching earrings and ring, make this a design that commands attention.

The above designs are only four of many wonderful pieces on display during last week’s live show, and I am on the edge of my seat to see what all of the designers come up with for Week Two’s theme, Darkness.  Claim the Fame is already an exciting competition featuring some amazing designers.   Don’t miss the next live show coming up this Wednesday!

Claim The Fame: Week 2 – Takeshi Kiama

Working with these new up and coming designers for the SL Art Couture’s “Claim The Fame” has been so far a fun and a bit hectic experience. However that is something we all enjoy a bit I think about modeling in Second Life®. I thought I’d show some photos of the designers outfits that I was assigned during week one.

Mayden Ushimawa of Mayden Couture Brian Outfit

Mayden Ushimawa of *Mayden Couture* Brian Outfit

I loved the lipstick kiss on tattoo layer. Not to mention this prim jacket with pose is a winner!

Ashleey Andrew of Ash's Trash Champagne Suit

Ashleey Andrew of Ash’s Trash Champagne Suit

Beautiful champagne colored suit with prim flower at lapel. The leg cuffs are well made and were easy to fit. Not to mention its just nice to have a suit that’s not black 😛

Karissa Silversmith of Touche's Premier Suit in Violet

Karissa Silversmith of Touche’s Premier Suit in Violet

Another wonderful suit this from Karissa Silversmith of Touche’. Purple is my all time favourite colour so it was a real pleasure to model this. The detail of the shirt and jacket textures really make the outfit and the collar comes in two versions, with and without bow-tie. (worn as requested by designer)

Marita Overland of Runway Couture Star Crossed Lover

Marita Overland of Runway Couture Star Crossed Lover

The fantasy element to a Shakespearean classic by designer Marita Overland of Runway Couture was the most fun to wear and play with. The details to the dagger and vial of poison were delightful and the fantastical epaulettes inspiring. Definitely a stunner for RP.

Claim The Fame, Week 2: Sy Whitesong

"Daron" by Nefertiti Kimagawa

Daron Is the Prince of the Flower Kingdom. His regal white suit with the one shoulder cape makes him match his princess’ gown with a whimsical charm.   The jacket is adorned along the bottom with a lavender pattern in a scalloped edge fashion.  Under his jacket is green and purple shirt in the fabric of his princess and his suit is completed with pristine white pants.  He compliments his Princess in every way.

"Paint The Roses Red" by Rogue Falconer of Rotten Defiance

This formal suit matches the “Paint The Roses Red” dress almost to a T with a red paisley vest accented with black lace, a white turtleneck undershirt, black jacket, and black pants. The suit can be worn multiple ways, including the full suit that is shown here, but also with just the white turtleneck and jacket, then again without the jacket and just the white turtleneck and vest, and lastly as just the vest or just the white turtleneck. The suit is accented with miniture roses on the cuff links and a rose corsage that can be worn with any combination of pieces, creating a formal or a relaxed look that is gothic themed.

"Valentino" by Vanesa Jinx of Coco Mexico

"Midnight Divine" by Vixn Dagger of Vengeful Threads

The  men’s “Midnight Divine” is composed of black velvet, satin, and silver  brocade.   This simple design is a combination of elements  influenced by period pieces, modern era, and the Latin fashion industry.  This design is intended to be more of a laid back, sexy formal wear for men.
