The sixth week of Claim The Fame this past Wednesday has been an exciting showdown of all things urban! Once again, the competing designers showed us that streetwear can be much more than jeans and a leather jacket. I think the following photos, clickable for full size versions as always, speak for themselves:)
The first outfit that I modeled in the show was Urban Nexus from E-clipse Designs, designed by Thetra Blackheart. A very chic and trendsetting outfit that comes complete with shoes, hair, jewelry, and a handbag. Multiple clothing layers and prim sleeves allow for a variety of combinations, and everything is perfectly matched to go together. This will surely get you noticed!
A more playful twist on the urban theme comes courtesy of the women’s version of Headline, designed by Lexi Vargas of The Brocade Tiger. The high quality of the textures and sculpted prims is evident here, and Lexi did not forget the fun factor either – the jacket and skirt are textured with newspaper clippings!
Nefertiti Kimagawa surprised the judges with Neffy’s Blossom, an outfit that borrows heavily from the Visual Kei and Lolita styles which are popular in Japan. And this outfit is just exploding with cuteness, from the hair bow to the cartoon unicorn on the tee-shirt, and right down to the doll leggings and “mis-matching” shoes. Adorable!
